97 front seat issues

I've got a 97 limited 4runner and the front seat has seen MUCH better days. Im wondering what an easy seat swap would be, because no junk yards have anything near decent.

You are looking for Jimmy Hoffa right now. The swap is easy but 99.999999999% of the 3rd Gen 4runner seats are in bad shape. Any you may find will want an arm and a leg if they are in good condition. May almost be worth taking to an upholstery shop and having them redo the leather on your old seats

There were no 3rd gen seats around here for months so I finally got out the tape measure and spent some time looking for seats with ideally spaced rails and narrow enough width at the local junkyard. Found something okay enough with no blood on them-out of an older Mazda 323- and got to work. In my case I raised the seats an inch because very short body. My 6' husband fits, but has to be careful not to bump his head getting in. Would have been nice if they were sportier, but they were available and a vast improvement over the degraded back n butt death seats I had.
Anywho, it can be done, has been done, will be done again, in many different ways.
Or new foam/cover would do it. Didn't I see someone used bits off a 2nd gen seat to refresh their 3rd gen seat and that came out nice too?

Brief what-I-did pics...

If it's just the seat bottom that is bad, the passengers side seat bottom is identical. I have the passengers side seat bottom on the drivers side in my '97 and a cloth seat bottom on the passengers side from a craigslist set of seats I picked up a few years ago.
