Salty Mule

I have a '97 that I am starting from scratch with. I have never lifted any vehicle and know absolutely nothing about it. I am NOT going to be 4 x 4 or rock climbing. This will be a daily driver that will go to the ranch on occasion.
I will be adding 285/75/16 or 265/75/16 after the lift.
How much lift should I go with?
What type or brand of lift?
Do I need anything outside of the of the lift? Shocks, Springs, etc?
It will have a heavy bumper and winch on the front and back.
Will I need wheel spacers?
4WheelParts in Austin recommended Rev 430 3" front and 2.5" in the back along with new struts. Does this sound like a good recommendation or is there a better route?
Thanks for any help
