Hi There! I am new to this forum but not to Toyota's. I love em!
Problem. The vehicle has 257,000 miles. 1 1/2 years ago we started having engine troubles and thought we had found a great mechanic and over a period of about a year he sucked about 7,000 dollars out of us. RE: rebuilt engine, preformance clutch and lots of misc stuff. Bottom line problems with the engine contiuned and I had a different garage check the vin number on the engine and it was the origional factory installed one! I have been nursing the engine for the last 3,000 miles but I want to get a new or rebuilt engine, shocks. struts and the center force clutch we thought we were getting. They also ripped the boot while supposily working on the car. I live in Central Ma. I thought I had someone to do the work but he is retireing and now I am at a loss. I am willing to pay a fair price, but don't know where to go that I wont get ripped off again. My husband really loves this truck and is out in Ca. I would like to get it fixed and drive it out to him. Are there any ethical engine folks out there that could point me in the right direction?
