Hi all,

A quick question and of course all opinions are welcome. I have a 97' limited with 140k on it.
1. I know for sure that the timing belt has never been changed. Is it imperative to do so asap? What are the concequesces if I don't?
2. My serpantine belt is squiking. Are they hard to change?

Thanks

Well, I would say so since it is recommended to do @ 90k. I've seen alot of guys though wait longer. I just paid a pretty penny for a timing belt service, which included replacing timing belt, water pump and all service belts. It is definitely worth it if you plan to keep your truck longer.

133000 just changed. The old one looked spankin new but it was possible that it was stretched out. thus causing the timing to retard. I've heard it's a pain to do, even from the tech at the dealer that worked on it. If you've never changed a drive belt, you might wan to leave it to the pro's.
