'97 T4R brakes, soft?

Compared to my other trucks the brake pedal on my '97 T4R seems very soft. There seems to be a lot of travel before braking starts. I tried to see if I could lock up the wheels by really standing on the pedal but can't do it. I got no pulse from the anti-lock system either.

I had my master cylinder replaced about 1500 miles ago, they bled the lines twice, no leaking anywear, just seems soft to me. I bought it used about 4000 miles ago so I don't know if they're supposed to be this way or not.

Comments?

Thanks, Rob

Mine is the exact same way. On dry pavement I can barely get ABS to kick in. And sometimes at low speeds if you smash the brake pedal it is like stepping on a brick. It slowly goes down. Kinda scary if someone pulls out in front of you in a parking garage. I think it is just the weight of these things and that's why many people have swapped over to the Tundra's brakes. I like my sister's Tahoe. It's big but if you hit the brakes, that thing stands on it's nose and STOPS. As for my issue of poor braking at low speeds they think it may be something to do with the ABS pump even though it works correctly.
