97 T4R clutch pedal problem

Last week when leaving my deer lease I suddenly started having problems with my clutch pedal. It stays stuck to the floor especially in first and second gears. Search attempt said clutch master cylinder may be bad. How would I diagnose that?

The reservoir was nearly empty yesterday afternoon. I refilled it so I suppose step one is to bleed the system. I haven't had time to climb under it.

I don't have problems driving. Just have to pull the pedal up. Clutch was replaced less than 30k miles ago.

Any advice appreciated.

Peak under the dash and see if there is fluid dripping down the firewall from the back of the master cylinder.

If the slave is leaking, you'll see fluid when you peel the boot back.

The OP had this problem this year, with enough time to fix, so I'm curious what the fix was since the symptom of having to pull up the pedal can be multiple things.

Was it the fluid?
Or was the pedal spring stuck in place due to the P & Q bushings?

I had the same problem. Pedal would go limp at the worst times. Master cylinder fixed it.

I replaced master and slave cylinders for the clutch and all problems resolved. I'm not sure which was the culprit as I didn't test in between but that fixed it.

I would honestly replace both master and slave, Brake fluid attracts moisture BIG TIME which will rust bores and cut seals. they are cheap, and easy to do.
