98 3.4l oil brand change

Hey guys, I have a 98 3.4l 4runner 4x4 and am about to change all the fluids, and install a tranny cooler so I'll flush it while I'm in there. my question is: the previous owner ran amsoil stuff in it that he says he runs for 25k miles, which scares the crap outta me. I'm planning on doing royal purple in the diffs/tranny/t-fer case and mobil 1 in the motor. do you forsee any issues with that change?? I ask because I switched oil brands in an older car once and it started using oil... what would the gurus recommend??

I agree, I cringed when he told me that after I handed him money. everything sounds and feels fine but I'm getting that junk out of there tomorrow.

I'm gonna try mobil 1 and see how it goes, change it every 5k, and do the diffs and others every 20-30k.

25k miles!!!!! Wow that must have been some powerful Amsoil marketing kool-aid he drank to believe that was healthily.

I would go with M1 and see if it consumes or leaks anything. If it does try a high mileage oil.
