i have a 1998 also, theres a small chinese man in the mall by the name of hung lee hung(no pun intended) who when my parents took my keys i would always take one to him and get it copied, anywho i ended up with numerous keys hidden around the house. i think each key was $1 and some tax. not sure what the whole transponder thing is though so i apoligize if this is absolutly no help what so ever.
