Cross bar removal

Hi all,

New 5th Gen owner here. 2016 SR5 Premium only had her 5 months now.

Came with these cross bars and no keys. Any idea on brand? How to remove them since I don't have the key.
I know cutting or drilling out the lock.
Wasn't sure if a key could be made.

I'll be popping in for a good read on things and advice.

So far put 4000 miles on her and a good road trip to Texas for a Mammoth March. She just rolled right along with no problems and the ride was much different than a car.
I also have a 99 runner who is a pavement princess but still gets the job of hauling stuff around town.

if those locks are stainless steel you might have a hard time. it's not like you can put them under a drill press. you'd be on a ladder and might have limited ability to really lean with pressure against the locks. it's going to be harder than you might think

find the brand, buy the keys off amazon for the footpacks and you should be fine

Any locksmith should be able to unlock them so they can be removed.

That's part of the problem - I have no idea of the brand/manufacturer.
My kid tried to pick them but he isn't a lock smith.

Here is a close-ish photo of where it attaches. I'll get a better picture of the lock shortly.
I can't make out any numbers/letters on the badge on the bar.

The numbers I was asking about would possibly be on the locks themselves and may also have the brand name of the lock manufacturer, if present.

I also agree your best bet will be a locksmith, he may even be able to make a key.
