98 4runner 4wd vs 06 4runner 4wd v8

Guy, with 3rd Gen 4runner with supercharged can 3rd gen 4runner outrun the 2006 v8 4wd in 1/4mile. Thinking might buy a 06 v8 4runner or spend another $5,000 on m 98 4runner and supercharged and ARB locker and 4:88 and keep my 98 blackie and forget 06 v8 4runner.

Pretty sure the V8 would win...Unless you spent 5k soley on your 5VZ blower, fuel and tuning mods...not to mention the 98 transmission being beefed up as well...then your rear end...imho.

If you're trying to make a 3rd gen 4runner into a drag racer you're doing it wrong.

Even if the 3rd gen had a s/c I'm pretty sure a 4th gen V8 would blow it away.
