I'm installing a deck for a friend and I can't figure out how to get the center piece off on the dash around the stock CD player. If someone could tell me how, or point me to a HOW TO, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

(btw search Nazi's, I did do a search - just came up with a bunch of threads that were of no help.) :D

Just PULL! Seriously, no tools required.

It makes things easier if you first take off the trim around the parking brake (pull straight up), then remove the trim around the shift levers. These pieces are only held on with wedge shaped metal clips that plug into holes, so they come off pretty easily.

If you look at my Scion T1807 install thread (stickied in this section), you can see the clips in the pictures of the rear of this panel on either side of the stereo face cut-out. You can also see the holes they clip into in some previous pics of the empty dash.

I find it is easiest to start at the top of the panel near the air vents.

The one thing that I think is different from mine is that you need to remove the control knobs and levers on the climate control.
