98 forester issue. Any relay pros?

I have spent like 3 days looking for a fix for this online and I can't find ****.

I have a 98 forester with phantom power locks. They lock and unlock by themselves, driver side doesn't work at all, passenger side only works when it feels like it.

I replaced the switches on the driver side. That didn't work. Checked all the fuses under the console and under the hood.

So it has to be a bad wire or a relay right? Hopefully it's a relay.

What iv been looking for is a schematic that shows which relay does what and I can't find it anywhere. Everything iv seen just says "it's a relay" with no more explanation.

Does anyone have access to a relay schematic for a 1998 Subaru forester? I'm going to get under the hood and take them out 1 by 1 after work today to see if that works I guess...

Doesn't look like there is a relay. Just a "Door Lock Timer"

Check out these pictures to see if they help out.

I have literally no idea what to make of those. I'm sure they are helpful, I just don't have the electrical knowledge to put them to use. I guess I'll just suck it up and take it to the shop :/

We had that same problem with the wife's 2001 and if I remember correctly, I performed a "reset" that I found on-line somewhere (probably one of the Subie forums), changed the battery in the remote, and turned the horn honk off so just the lights flash to tell you "locked" and "unlocked"... haven't had a single problem since! I'll see if I can find that procedure to reset the system.

Are you talking about the deal where you take off the neg battery cable, turn the key, yadda yadda, forget the rest?
