98 ltd 4x4 tranny question

ok, at 105k or was it 110k? anyhow, i had my tranny flushed since they only did a tranny oil change on my full service prior.

After that i started noticing something odd (could be coincidence).

In the mornings i'll let it run for a couple of minutes. Then i'll slowly accelerate and everything is normal until 3rd gear. It is hesitant to goto 3rd. It'll go into it but requires 2800-2900 rpm compared to 2200-2300 normally.

Once the temp guage needle is in the middle or close to it (normal operating temp), everything is all good. Problem only occurs when the engine is cold.

I had it checked out at the dealership but they said everything is fine. I KNOW it's not fine, i've had it for over 50k. It's just doing this recently.

Is my tranny giving me signs of dying? :(

Please Help........

I think it is normal.....the auto trannys won't shift into overdrive till it's warmed up......my truck and runner both do it too............maybe the fluid level is low?? just a thought....

i'll check fluid level. regarding the normal thing, i'd agree with you except it NEVER was like this until recently.

The transmission taking longer to shift when cold is normal. The ECU does that so the engine and the transmission can warm up faster.
