98 to 99 Sunroof control mod - calling all electricians

So I'm swapping out my 98 sunroof control to 99. I've seen several threads on the process, minus the wiring. Seems as if most people just cut a second hole in the plastic diffuser. Does anyone know how to wire it up or have come across wiring instructions to use only the one factory switch? I've searched a lot to no avail. I'd rather not cut the second hole.

Thanks, have seen that, but he does it exactly how I don't want to do it, where he cuts a second hole in the clear plastic diffuser.

What I'm trying to do is wire it as if it was stock, using a single switch for both venting and opening/closing.

I have the same parts to do that overhead console swap as well, and I'd rather do it your way also

Wiring Two 96 Sunroof Switches to One 99 Switch

Ditto here...I've got all the parts and have been scouring the web for info on how to wire the two switches to a single switch. :bump:

Wiring Diagrams

So I ended up pulling my moonroof apart, as well as the controls for the 99 console I have. I wasn't sure how to proceed, since the 99 appears to have six wires coming from the switch, whereas my 96 only has five.

I got ahold of the wiring diagrams for both the 99 and the 96 but they probably confused me more than anything. I'm going to have to study them for a while.
