99-02 OEM Stanley Fog Light / Ebay "OE" Aftermarket Replacement Fog Experiences???

Long Title, but as it states does anyone have experience with the aftermarket options on ebay for the OEM STANLEY fog lights?

Cleaning mine up and trying to replace a cracked lens on the passenger side. Can't buy just the glass lens from the dealership, so I went to ebay.

The used options aren't much better than what I'm trying to replace, and the cost for those OEM Stanley's on ebay aren't that great.

Now dollar to dollar, the options I'm asking about are in fact more expensive than a used OEM replacement, but they look good to me.

Anybody have experience with these or similar? Over 100 sold between the two options I'm listing. I'm curious about the quality of the glass....thinking I could swap over the new glass from the aftermarket lights to clean up my OEM Stanley's.

I used those when I added fogs to my SR5. No complaints, really. Good cutoff, fine beam spread. Better light control than my OEM '99 headlights. They jiggle a bit on rough (ie dirt) roads. I can't compare to the OEM fogs, as I never had them.

my thought process is to take the new ones apart and swap over the glass lenses on the front, retaining all OEM stanley mounts to keep the jiggles nonexistent...

That is....if those lenses are actually glass.

Hows the quality of the exterior lens? Share some pics perhaps????

I couldn't find any pics that I have already taken.

The lens is glass, so you can at least try to swap them over. There is some worry that the focal point, etc. might be different between the two projectors - but worst case, you can use the whole new unit.

This will be very interesting to see results on this project!

I bought these as well to add to my 2001 4Runner, looked to be well made.

op must have them already on car, so wont need a new stalk (switch) but those of you thinking of adding, or have added what switch are you running.

I used the factory headlight switch off a '99 or '00 Solara. You can also use one off a Camry, Sienna or 4Runner of similar years. This should work for a '99-'02 4Runner. Not sure on the '96-'98's.
