I've seen lots of great responses on changing the spark plugs but none seem to mention the '99 4 cylinder 2.7L. Wife just drove off so I can't look under the hood but am I correct that this is simply 4 plugs on top of the manifold, 3 are easy to get to and the other might need the air cleaner removed? Also, what plugs are recomended? The NGK or Denso mantioned in other posts? Thanks in advance. Any advice or directions to applicable posts appreciated!

Sounds good. I don't know how much you've done this so I'll throw this out:
1) Get some silicone grease for the plug boots on the wires. You don't want them to "bake" onto the ceramic on the plugs.
2) Remember you're torquing into an aluminum head, get the torque spec and use a torque wrench.

Thanks. I torqued the best I could though I think the wrench is junk and I'm not ever sure I'm reading it right. I made one dumb mistake and that was pulling the wires without noting the order. Am I correct if they are not hooked up correct the car won't start? Also, one of the boots doesn't seem to be sitting perfectly - a little loose but the wire seems to be connected fine. Is this an issue? Should I pull it and redo it? First road test seems to be good - more acceleration. Two of the old plugs looked horrible and the other two looked just plain bad.
