Hey everyone , I own a 99 4runner it has the 2.7liter in it and it's auto 2wd. I'm running 31 inch tires and have 230k on it . Never had any issues out of it . I went out to the beach today and I noticed it was really sluggish and out of power going up the sand . Most the time I don't have a problem. But today it just felt like it wanted to bog the motor down . I don't have any codes popping up . No misfire and perfect compression in all cyclinders . It just had a tune up 5 k ago and a fresh oil change last week. Just wanted to get some feedback .
Here are some of the ideas I have it could be .
clogged cat ?
needs injectors?
intake has a leak maybe?
or motor is going out?
Not sure never had a problem like this on any of my vehicles .
Transmission is fine no slipping and fluid smells and looks great.
No noise from the rear end.
I also have another problem that has been with the vehicle for like 10 years now . The pedal has a little stick when you push it it pops , Its not the intake i checked that and its not the pedal I replaced that . Just seeing what you guys think of that.
Sorry if it's a little confusing just trying to name everything I can think of
