I am new to the 4runners and looking into purchasing a '99 4wd runner. I was just wondering what was the button on the side of the 4wd shifter nob for?

The button on the side of the shift knob that reads "4WD" in big white letters?

Shot in the dark... but I bet it puts the truck in 4WD

Much better reply than COB's. Thank you for not making us all look like a bunch of ****s.

SCRunner12's probably one of the coolest guys on this forum. He is a helpful dude. Oh, but now my reply represents this whole forum? Since when?

No offense to OP, just giving him a hard time. I think we can all agree that he asked a silly question. Like always, searching does wonders. One quick 3 word search query and I found the answer: Let me google that for you

Oh, no... Apparently, I'm just a ****. Yep, the first thing that comes to everyone's mind is that I'm just an insensitive mean jerk with no intention to help anyone. In fact, I never help anyone. Each of my posts is full of useless bullsh!t meant purely to degrade this whole forum down and get my kicks.

If you have a problem with my posts, drop it and move on.

You big meanie.

Aw COB, you're going to make me blush...;):

COB is just a little angry since the op has 4wd, but doesn't know how to use it and COB had to work his a$$ off to get it.

Haha people need to understand scarsism runs freely here. If I had seen this thread before him id of said the same thing. I'm sure the op had to know he was asking a dumb question. Not in the sense that he is dumb just In the sense that he must have know the answer was easy to find on his own via here, Google, or his handy dandy owners manual. he was just to lazy to look or to excited to open a thread. I completely understand. I ask dumb questions all the time and have opened threads called "why do I have nipples" and "help she's way to tight" so I get the same ****. And if t4r4life happens to see this I save all my really stupid questions for him. Everyone needs to lighten up and brush **** off
