'99 4Runner Auto Trans Question

I've got a '99 4Runner which (up until now) has been a great truck. Twice now myself or my wife have started the 4Runner, put it in drive and it just sits there, put it in Neutral rev it up, back in drive and after a minute or so later it drives fine. Did it to me a couple of weeks ago first thing in the morning, has been fine ever since. Tonight, after the truck had sat for a couple of hours after about a 15 minute drive it did the same thing, this time to my wife.

'99 4Runner, V6, 75K Just returned from a 300 mile trip to the mountains where night time temps were in the teens, 50's where we are now. Trans is probably due for service (been about 20K miles).

Anybody ever have this happen to their T4R? Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Toyota service manager told me Toyota's are cold natured and sometimes it'll take a couple of miles before they even warm up enough to shift right -- that after I told him mine wasn't shifting into overdrive for about 1 1/2 miles when I left the house in the morning. I also recently experienced a hesitation and jerking -- had the transmission drained & filled and that seems to have resolved the problem.

Thanks for the reply!

Ours actually did it two more times last week so Friday I had my wife take it to the dealer. They drained and flushed the trans. We've only driven it 60 miles or so since then but so far so good, hopefully that will take care of it. I'll post if I have any more problems with it.
