99 4Runner purchase questions

I have never owned a Toyota before but I'm ready to make the move. I'm working with an auto broker to find a 99 Limited 4x4 with diff loc. We are having trouble finding one with less than 50k miles in our area of Florida. The broker basically has spotters who go to auction and finds the specific vehicle I want. Then the buyer bids according to the broker and my predetermined price. Is this a good idea? What do I need to look out for? I need to know what is a good price to pay from an auction? I know that the black book is 21150 for an excellent car but what should I expect to pay. The broker says he thinks the price to me will be about 18700 out the door minus taxes and title. Should I go lower? Any insight or info would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I'm paying cash and am ready to buy

You're in Florida, man you should look for the Runner yourself there, you'll save big bucks, or hang around these boards and you'll find used ones for alot less than that, I could never buy a car from an auction, you can't test drive the thing, besides I think they are mostly leased return, bottom line is I think you can look for one on your own and save some dough for all the mods you'll be doing to the rig!!! I would aggree but...

I have been looking for the specific rig i want 99 limited 4x4 w/ dif loc and moonoof under 50k, for about 3 months now. No luck. the broker I'm working with has a 72 hour right to resend policy. If I or my mechanic find something wrong with the truck they will fix it. If they cant fix it they will refund my money. The lowest priced rig like I want that I have seen sold has gone for 23k. That was on Ebay. Way should I be worried about getting a lease. I will run the sevice record from my local Toy dealership and have my mechanic look at it. The broker has the vehicle inspected by an independant mechanic and runs a carfax with title guard. By the time all the inspections are done it will be as good as a certified toyota, ie 160 point inspection, title search, vehicle history report, dealer service record. Also it has to pass the most difficult inspection in the world....mine. I inspect fighter aircraft for the USAF. I think thats enough due dilligence. Any thoughts?
