99 4runner wont start in park

I have a 99 2wd 4runner with 4cyl and a auto trans and it wouldn't start in park so we used neutral for a while and then it wouldn't start in either gear. so we were told that it was the neutral safety switch so we adjusted it and it worked for a couple days and then it did the same thing so we replaced the switch from a wrecking yard and the same thing it worked for a couple days and now it wont start again. Is there anyone out there that has heard of this happening or know whats causing it.:roadkill:
