I just noticed that it started shifting very hard when cold while going into Drive, reverse, 1 to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd. After it warms up it seems to go back to normal and i have read that this is normal when cold, BUT my trans never did this until just now. I have had my 1999 V6 Auto 4 runner since new and it now has 126K miles on it. I have also noticed about 2 years ago that only 1st gear started making a whining noise while accelerating. I have changed the tranny fluid and filter several times over the years. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
99 auto trans JUST started shifting hard when cold. anyone know whats going on?
