99 Brakes wont work 100%

Hello I was checking the brakes on my 99, took all the bolts on the caliper apart and it started leaking brake fluid from the bottom part of the caliper. There was a rubber washer that I put right back on and then put the two halfs of the caliper together again along with everything else...now I have to put my foot down all the way down to the firewall to get the car to brake.

I tried bleeding the brakes but it doesn't do anything, with the car off and foot down the pedal will get a bit hard like any normal car but then the pedal will go right back down again under my foot's pressure.Was I not supposed to take the caliper apart? This was the first time checking the brakes on this car, the only other one being a Miata, whole different car.

No, you weren't.

First have you bled the brake sin the proper order?

RR
RF
LF
LSPV

Did the Master Cylinder ever run dry while you were bleeding them?
If so you may have air in the MC, which is hard to get out.

When you reassembled the caliper are you 100% sure the 2 halves sealed 100% ? If not you could be sucking in air while bleeding, (but you should also be able to see a leak).

I will disassemble the caliper again tomorrow to be sure it sealed up correctly. Does having opened it make the caliper trash now?

Sorry responded too quickly, what is LSPV? The MC never ran dry.

Just to update, I dissembled the caliper, juice came out again of course lol checked that the rubber washers were still in placed in their grommets which they were put everything back together and threw some soapy water on the calipers to check for leaks found none. Then I restarted the bleeding process one more time.

At the Driver side front caliper after the 2nd opening of the bleed screw the small hose I was using decided to spit the fluid at my eyes, my bro ran out of the car and got me inside to rinse out my eyes....and afterwards I realized that he had let go of the brake pedal :rant: I was happy I wasn't permanently blind but still I was also frustrated...and my right eye was killing me lol

I decided to just keep trying on that last caliper, with glasses this time and a few minutes later, everything was working just fine

Except my eye, this all happened yesterday and this morning I got up at 430 am to eat and it was all crusty...woke up again at 9am and it wasn't crusty but I had a large eye booger inside my eye and all day it's felt like if someone punched me, but doesn't burn like yesterday. I'm going to sleep on it to see how it feels like tomorrow.
