i gotta 00 4 cyl. Im wondering what your thoughts are after you installed the deckplate.

The 4 cyl is frustratingly underpowered at times IMO. Did this cure that frustration for you? what did you notice, like/not like after installation.
 
I found I have much more power in the back-end. I don't know if it's just in my head or what. We have a lot of snow and the tires want to spin more than usual. It has faster pick-up as well. I'm very glad I did the mod.

Doesn't that just suck alot of hot air off the manifold? Being a diesel guy we did this mod to our factory air boxes too and saw 300-400 degree EGT temp rises..yeah more air...but what are your intake air temps?Anyone put a probe in there stock and one after the deckplate mod?;):
 
that set up sucks more hot air, what i did on my 96 4banger was cut a square hole infront where the washer fluid is, its alot more better, also i took out the elbows in the fender and had the trueflow filter, well after all that mod, i decided to get a intake from ebay, and just used the pipe, but buy a trueflow filter as the filter, works alot better. the intake on ebay is like less than 50 bucks, but the trueflow filter is another 50 bucks
