99 Highlander owners, quick question

I'm looking at a 99 Highlander, and was wondering, do they have the same aluminum interior trim pieces like the 01-02 Sport Editions? The one I'm looking at has just the wood grain (I think--the pictures really suck on the ad).

Also, were the rear lockers pretty common on the Highlanders? Or did they come standard?

And did they have the auto up/down front windows?

Since selling my Jeep, I've been shopping like crazy for the past two weeks for a 4Runner. I hope this one is it.

Although I dont have one, when I was shopping around I looked about 5 Highlanders and only one had the locker. I never saw any with anything other than woodgrain or black dash trim, and all the woodgrain ones looked terrible and cheap. I'm preety sure I have seen aftermarket dask kits somewhere.

They came as an option on all trim levels, but came standard on the SX package (don't know what that means, but it's one of the packages for the Highlander trim). Looks like the wood grain interior was common, as well as just a grey interior.

I think the wood grain is actually kinda rare in the Highlanders and is sometimes an aftermarket kit.

The silver trim pieces didn't show til '01.

And did they have the auto up/down front windows?

This became std feature on the Limited models starting in '99. I also have this on my '00 SR5, however I'm not sure if it was something that came automatically with the power windows or if it came only as part of some upgrade package. Whether or not you could get them on a non-Limited '99 I'm also not sure of.

anyone know if the AUTO UP and AUTO DOWN is the switch itself? I have a 1998 and would like the auto up feature if I can just swap master window switches..

It would make the most sense if the auto part of it was all in the switch. Try it out and tell us if it works. I wouldn't mind having auto up either. My little CR-V has it and I miss it when I drive the runner.
