99 highlander springs

ok so i have researched a lot about lifts on here and just want some clarification. sorry if this is somewhere else... the search engine is bad
so i want the 99 highlander springs and want to know where i can get them? a link would be really nice! also can i install this at home? or do i need a spring compressor? what tools will i need?

You can get the springs at a toyota dealership. Just give them a call and see if the have them or can order them for you. Yeah you can install them at home. I think topdown4runner installed them on his wifes 4runner if you want to pm him for details.

Those spring numbers deserve a sticky! How many times a month does that come up...

This is exactly what I was looking for! One question: I'd like to install some Bilstein struts/shocks with the new OEM 99 springs. Should I get the ones for the 99 or my 01? Are the lengths different?

-Received the "99 tall coils" about a week ago.
-They weren't tall coils at all, just stock.
-On Friday seller agreed he should have verified the colors before sending, and is willing to refund the money.
-Today is Monday, still waiting on refund
-Hope it comes through soon so I can get what I need. Everything else is here.

Bummer. Hope it all gets sorted out.
 
So just got my 99 Rears in the mail. I could have sworn my original 01 Ltd rears are 8 wrap. These 99s only have 7 wraps. Is this right? The color code is also supposed to be Yellow/Red. The ones I ordered look more like a mint green color..theyre new from toyota with the correct model number, but im just not sure...

The yellow is definitely greenish. Mine is that way from the factory. I know they are the talls because the fronts are correct and the truck is level, or at least, used to be--still very close. (I bought it new in '99).
 
so the 99 rears have less coils/wraps than the 01's? i have an 01 and want to do this same upgrade but don't want any rake whatsoever. is there any rake/sag with that spring having one less coil? or is it that the wire is thicker?
someone please advise so i can scratch this upgrade off the list.
and which billies? 5100's, 4600's? tokicos?
 
So, If i get these coils, what would you recommend for the shocks? Keeping in mine I'm on a budget. This would be on my 98 4runner.

Either get stock ones from the dealer or KYB Monomax/ Gas Adjust shocks. I only have experience with the KYB monomax shocks and they are pretty stiff but comfortable.
 
Hey guys. First post here for me and it's a lift question...I know shocking. I promise I searched as best as I could but didn't see anything.

I'm looking into to getting a 4Runner and considering doing the Highlander (tall spring) lift since I have limited clearance in my apartment's garage (74" max).

Would I be able to put 33's with it or would that still rub?

Could I go a little taller and not exceed my total height limit?

I think they list most stock 3rd gens under 5'8" or 68", so that would leave you 6" of clearance. Say you have 30" tires stock and you go up to 33". It's not going to increase your height by 3". It's only going to increase it roughly 1.5".

I have a 3" lift and am running basically 32" tires. As long as I don't have my bars on, I can clear 74" no problem. I think I can with them on as well, but have never tried.

Great. Thanks for the response. I'd read another thread where someone mentioned that they could barely fit under an 84" garage with 3" and 33's so I was concerned. I have no problem ditching the bars if needed.
