Has anyone had problems with the '99 Limited check engine light? Mine seems to come on frequently without any noticeable change in performance. I just had the O2 sensor replaced but the light came back on after about 300 miles.
If your mechanic changed O2, the error code might be P171.
I got the same situation earlier this winter. My mechanic replaced the O2 first, according to his book. However, it did not work and the check engine light went back on after 20 miles.
Then I searched online and found the solution. Again, I asked my mechanic to clean the MAF. However, I still get this error code after drove 150 miles. Then I went back to his shop for the third time. This time, I watched him to follow the procedure. While removing MAF, he did strip one of the two screws, that tells me that he did not take this part off last time in order to clean its inside.
When he said he need to replace MAF. I took the original MAF under the sun and saw a thin hair sticking to two sensor wires inside the tube. I asked him to clean off that hair, and put eveything back. Since then, I have not seen the check engine light back on. I got a 2000 SR5.
