'99 Limited Factory Fog Light Wiring Issue

Hello all, been lurking for a while and this is my first time posting and I'm happy to join!

Recently acquired a '99 Limited 2wd with 150k miles. I will make an introduction post soon with all the work I've done in the past couple weeks since I bought it, and all I plan to do. But right now I'm stuck on these fog lights and it bothers the hell out of me. :moping: (especially given I bought LED bulbs, new combination switch and LED headlight resistors to make it work)

So I have the factory fog lights with the switch on the turn signal stalk. I replaced that combination switch because the brights/flashers did not work. I was hoping that was gonna fix the fog lights too but it didnt. :doh: Pulled out my 12v tester and it seems I am not getting power to the fuse.

Relay is clicking and getting power from the headlights but the fuse has no power so I pulled it out and tested the fuse terminals and nothing... Literally worse case scenario. :frusty:

So what I'm asking for is what color wire am I looking for to trace back from the fuse junction box in the engine bay, to the dash/combination switch? And any tips for doing so? I guess im looking for a f'ed up wire?

Make sure you're on low beams when you check the fog light voltage.

There's not much to the fog light circuit... The power to the 15A fog fuse is direct off the battery - no other fuses in the way. If you hear the relay clicking, then the switch (ground) and power (low beam headlights) for the relay coil are working. All that is left is power to the switching side of the relay...

All I can say is verify it is in the correct location.

I was able to easily add OEM (style) fogs to my '99 SR5 with the stalk, relay and fuse...

Thank you for the reply, I did verify the fuse and relay are in the right location.



Im thinking this may be caused by something the PO did because there was no fuse in the fog fuse spot when I bought the 4r...

It is very odd there is no power to the fuse.. (Low beams, fog switch and engine all on when testing) My only thought at this point is try to trace the wires that go to the fog fuse?? :shrug:
