One of the rear seat belts in my 99 won't retract. I purchased a replacement off ebay from a salvage yard. They sent me the wrong side, and it's the wrong color.
I did remove the old belt and found the clock spring in the tensioner broken.
Apparently the blue grey interior I have is somewhat rare, because all I can find are oak tan belts.
I disassembled the old tensioner with no regards for re-assembly and was able to harvest the grey belt. That got me to thinking I might be able to install it in the tensioner of a tan belt. I do have access to a parts vehicle with tan interior.
Any body got tips and techniques for doing a belt swap without screwing up the tensioner?
