99 Rear Speaker size? 4" Or 5.25"?

Is it possible to fit 5.25" speakers in the rear doors of a 99 4Runner? Havent gotten a chance to look at them..and im gonna be ordering speakers?

Has anyone done this? If so, how tough was it?

I just ordered some JBL speakers for my front and rear doors tonight.

The rears use 5.25" speakers but need a custom plate built. I found a place that builds the plate and got one ordered.

Ended up just getting soem 4" speakers for the rear..

Those adapter plates dont bump out the speakers...

those plates would deff make your speakers hit the window when it rolls down.

They also sell spacers but ok....
