99 Smells like a rotten egg...

Lately, my 99 4R is smelling like a rotten egg out of the exhaust. I have not seen any lack of performance, no check engine lights, and still get 22 mpg. Any idea what sensor is malfunctioning to do this? It stinks when I leave the back glass down.

I've noticed that from time to time also. As far as I know, nothing should be wrong.

Haven't experienced the issue personally, but I have heard the smell is attributed to failing catalytic converter. I think there are some posts somewhere from a few months ago discussing this problem. Maybe the driver needs to cut back on the taco bell intake.

Bad cat maybe. You get the same smell when you run a straight pipe (no cat(s) to catch the emissions.)

That's usually a good indication of a bad cat...
