Does anyone have a web site or place (besides the dealership)where I can buy a factory sport edition hood to replace the hood on my limited? I haven't been able to find one. Thanks

You can buy an aftermarket hood that has the scoop part but you will need to go through a Toyota parts dealer for the insert and associated hardware and it will need to be painted.
partznet sells the scoop parts and actual OEM hoods. The hood itself is a bit over $200 and the insert and parts will total about $150.

Depending on the color of your paint you may not have to get it painted so it would end up costing about the same..

anyone know how much lighter the cf hood is than stock
and can cf pretty much be painted to look exactly like the rest of the car, i.e. weave completely hidden?

I guess it would be hard to tell, but it seems that most people wanna show off that carbon fiber hood.

CF hood weighs roughly 13 lbs.
Stock hood weighs about 25 lbs.
In other words, this is strictly for looks on our 4000 lb vehicle. I inquired about the quality with several other members on other forums - the clear coat does indeed fade quickly. Nothing a good clear coat can't fix. I have also heard that the quality of VIS hoods is in general so-so.
Still... It is a bada$$ hood!

best thing to do is find junkyards in your area.

$250 for a primered undamaged hood with scoop. not bad..
