I have a '99 SR5, 3.4L 4WD with 132K. I went to change the oil the other day for the first time (usually had the dealer do it) and noticed a few drips. After removing the smaller skidplate to get to the oil plug, I noticed oil all over everything around the front end. It was only about a half court low so it wasn't a big leak, and I did notice oil underneath the filter which may be from them not tightening it enough which I'm hoping. The valve covers and headers are all spotless so that's not the source. What do y'all think? Could it be a main seal? Does this ever happen on these rigs? Thanks!

it's most likely it's 11-12 years worth of a few singles drip accumulated on your skid plate or what not, if the top of the engine is dry and you don't see the back of the engine wet either i would suggest all of your seals are good.
if your worried about it just go ahead with your oil change and pressure wash your skid plate and keep an yeye on the oil over the next few weeks, if you notice it starting to dip, pull the plate back off and see where it is coming from
and go from there.
