More noise from moving air would be normal. Does it sound like there is something in there that shouldn't be, causing the air flow to make a strange noise? Some other Toyota models made around 2004 had issues with the blower motor making a high-pitched whining noise on the high setting, but I don't think that affected the 4Runner.
