A couple 07 SE Questions

I started the Beast today and the area which illuminates the radio was very dim. the dimmer switch was on max. every other display was working. i thought i saw a message on the radio area screen then dim.....stayed that way. I drove and restarted the car and the normal easy to read display returned. Question 2. are the outside mirrors on the SE heated and how do they operate. Thanks.

Alaskaman, don't know about your radio display light, BUT your heated side view mirrors are standard on Sport Editions, and are activated at the same time when you turn on the rear window defroster switch under the main HVAC controls.

Well I guess that depends on the ambient outside temp. But from my crappy SF weather experience, the mirrors defog themselves fully in under a minute. Given the relatively small area of the mirror and the beefy heating element contained within, it's pretty fast.

The damn wall of fog always starts and ends at my parents' house. The 4R always comes home dirty. :bash:

Now that I think of it, since you say your rheostat has no effect on your HU's display back light, you may just have a loose ribbon connection from the back light array to the board. Similar problem I had with my old Acura. Getting to it is another story though. Might want to check some connections. Not sure if they are LED or filament though like the HVAC display.

I lived in the city. loved almost every minute...however that fog as you go out to the avenues can be, well, as you know quite impressive.
