A couple of my dash lights are blinky (1998 4Runner)

I replaced my main dashboard lights; the new bulbs are tight so that's the not the problem..but when I put them in; a couple of them didn't work at all.

i moved the 2 that didn't work to the other spots and they came on fine.

then i went back to the 2 places where they didn't light up..and wiggled/rotated them in the sockets a tiny bit and got them working.

everything was fine for about 3 weeks..now i get occasional 'blinks' when driving so i'm guessing the connection isn't great.

when this has happened w/ other electronics, i've used a pencil eraser on the contact points and its helped.

is that the way to go here? anyone else having this issue? my screws are getting loose in my dash so i hate to keep taking it apart only to have to go back in so i'm hoping whatever solution is going to last for awhile.

when i replaced my lights with LEDs i noticed that the copper connection on my circuit board was very thin, putting in and taking the bulbs out wore off the conductive material. (ill look for a picture) take a look at this thread and see what i used to fix my lights. its been 4 months and no more problems.

FYI idk if you need this, just a write up on tearing the dash apart. but sounds like you have done it quite a bit already.

yes i did, it worked but it took me forever to figure that trick out!
