A few More SR5 questions:

Hello, a few more questions if you don't mind. I am getting close to pulling the trigger on a new 4Runner.

First: The price I've been quoted is 33,500 plus taxes and tags for a 2011 SR5 with the conv. package and leather seats, no running boards. It seems like a good price to me, just wondering what others paid.

Second: What is "A-Trac"? I saw the button next to the VSC button up by the moon roof controls.

Third: Can the Craven Speed antenna be bought at a store, or just online?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Utah!

Last question, and this one's a big one. The 4Runner i want is Silver with Black leather interior and the 2 that were available got sold this weekend. My local dealer has one with cloth and said they could send it back to port to get the leather installed. I would have to pay 400 bucks for the transport. I really want the leather. Should I do this?

Thanks in advance.

not sure. That is up to you. I've got leather and i really like it. I've got black t4r with black leather. It looks sick. Can you search for other dealers in your area? My T4R was from another dealership about 1.5 hrs south of where i am. I had them ship it up.

How much did they charge you to ship it? I was quoted 450 from a place that is 2 hours from here.

It's through SE Toyota so they are only looking within there network.

Are they not able/willing to do a search for 4Rs in production? You would have to wait a little longer, but you would get exactly what you want.

Ya, they did a search for what is at port and at sea and came up with zero regarding the specs for what I want. I assume this has to do with production being stopped.

Does it have a 3rd row? I bought my 2011 SR5 with convinience pkg, sand leather, without 3rd row, no running board, no sliding tray for $34000. I think you got a good price.

If the port installs the leather, be aware that it will likely be aftermarket and you won't be getting the heated seats or leather steering wheel that comes along with the normal leather seat option. It is several hundred dollars ($400, IIRC) to retrofit the steering wheel. Heated seats are cheap enough to retrofit, but most I've seen on here are on or off rather than multi-level.

Personally, I'd wait until a leather package version shows up.

I am really not concerned about the heated seats. It doesn't get cold enough here to warrant.

What do you mean, "on or off"?

I don't think they charged me, or if they did, it was built into the price somewhere. I forget. I just know that i gave him a $500.00 deposit on the phone, then they contacted the dealer and bought it from the dealer, and then had a guy drive down grab it and bring it back. It was on the lot that same day. It was pretty sweet.

I'm sure i paid for it somewhere, but, i don't recall.

i don't know man, the heated seats are pretty awesome. I have never liked them cause my butt gets sweaty lol. BUT, my girl loves them. And i find myself using them now too. It's a luxury. I'd say wait for a 4runner that has leather. You will be glad you did.

They are either on or off. The OEM heated seats have different levels of heat. The amount of heat you get is related to the position of the dial. I find the OEM ones are too hot with the dial all the way up. I tend to keep it around 3/4 to full on.

Thanks guys. Ya, I am not sure what I am going to do. I debate back and forth about what to do. I could get this one with the leather and be happy with it, but I hate that I'd be be paying 500 (total) for the transport to and from the port and the running boards, which I don't want. If it was just a matter of a few weeks I think I'd be fine, I just don't know what to believe in regards to when something will be coming in because of the earth quake. They are still getting hit with aftershocks.

some guys on the forum have bought from dealers in different states and then they fly there and then they drive the truck home. Just a thought!

Drive up to SW WV. My local dealer has a silver SR5 that stickers for $38k (probably premium package, convenience package, and 3rd row). NC isn't that far away.

Seriously look into going up to VA or TN for a truck. That should get you out of SE region, right?

Thanks Quentin! I like the way you think. I should know more today about what is out there. I guess today is the day that the allocation list goes out. I feel good that something will be there for me.

BTW, we just bought my wife a mini cooper S. Kinda funny that you have one too. Super fun to drive.

I got the base SR5. No 4wd, but don't really need it for the type of kid-hauling, grocery getting I do.. The only options were power seats, bluetooth phone, running boards, and additional tint. Everything else is fairly stock, power windows/mirrors, cruise, etc. Its got the cloth, but honestly, I like the cloth better than the leather.. all the leather I've seen on the 4r seems pretty entry level. One dealer said they have a "place" that installs it after the fact.. so you might check around in your area.. anyway.. I payed basically invoice on mine.. I think sticker was 32,500 or something and I paid ~ 29500 + TTL..

Total out of pocket was 26, as I got a 6k sell/trade in on my 2001 tundra to carmax (they'll buy a vehicle even if you're not buying from them).. the toyota dealers all wanted to give me $5k.. wtf! seriously..

I think you should consider the Cloth seats... these are NOT ****ty cloth, they are pretty nice. IMO Cloth is MUCH more comfortable than leather for ALL 4 seasons. If it was not graphite (black) interior, I would say go leather because of stains etc. Leather turns to **** after awhile.
