A few questions...

1. Ok I just bought a 89 4 Runner 4 cyl, and I have noticed there is a lot of play in the steering wheel, is there anyway I can fix this?

2. Also I don't know if this second question has been asked but, My friend has the same 4 Runner but an SR5 version . My question is, is there anyway to get the Instrument panel that sits on the top of the dash and mount it( junkyard probaly being best bet).

3. When I make sharp turns on the road it makes a loud creeking sound, i'm guessing something to do with the IFS but not sure what to do about it (grease?)

4. Old crappy Blue\Gray Graphics are baked on the sides, I used a hairdryer and goo gone to get some off but I have yet to be able to get it all off, any tricks of the trade here or am I just going to have to repaint.

5. Also has anyone on this forum done a Rhino linings spray on the floor of the whole interior.

Thats it for now but many more to come, really siked about this new project, and help is greatly appreciated!

2. Do you mean the inclinometer? if so they are listed on E-bay all the time but the do not come cheap.most go $80 or more.
3. it's your turn stops yes you can greese them you will see them by the wear when you look under your truck.
4. odds are you may get the decals off but there will be paint fade.
5.Rhino linning is done all the tie I have seen the whole truck done in it. it is also not cheap though.

I Can steer Left to right a very noticeable distance without making the truck turn at all.

I Researched this just a minute ago and saw that these steering stops are plastic, where can I get these at?

Yeah I have gotten some of the decals off but I also have the infamous rust on all 4 of the fenders so I think I may just get the whole paint & body fixed

yeah I've seen that also, what I'm trying to do is to make the interior pretty much waterproof and be able to just take a waterhose and spray the interior out then pull a drain plug and drain the water, does anyone know of anything showing the prep work for this, I have a gun and compressor, so I'm just going to buy the cans of it and Do it myself.

Ahhh I just remembered one more thing, the Gas hatch has broken how easily is this fixed, its quite an annoyance.

1" free-play(in one direction) at the steering wheel rim is acceptable , according to the FSM. (Engine off when checking free-play).

Saw someone on eBay selling the plastic replacement caps for the steering stops for about $9.00 per set. Prolly cheaper just to grease em regularly. The plastic just wears thru with a few rubs and they fall off .

Is the little spring on the gas hatch missing or broken off? You can get a replacement spring for about $5.00 from the Toyota Dealer. Mine had that problem when I bought it. Went to put gas in it the first time, pulled the hatch release, and it wouldn't open. Hadda put a screwdriver in the gap between the hatch and the body so that it put a little pressure on the hatch. Pulled the release and it popped open. The new spring from the Dealer just snaps on.
