A Gentle Lift

I love the stock look...idk why. But im getting some 265/75/r16's and was wondering if got a 1 inch body lift, what all would be lifted? Would I need new coils and shocks?

I think with a body lift the shifters move down a little. but nothing major. Also you may need to cut some of the radiator fan shroud or move it up. I'm not 100% on what's involved in a bosy lift but I hear there fairly simple. If you want just a mild lift any particular reason for a body lift? Why not go with the Performance products springs? They should give 1-1.5" of lift and there's no diff drop to worry about or anything. I hear it even reduces body roll significantly and gives a really nice stance.

i have a 1" BL. nothing needs to be done to the suspension. you remove the body mount bolts (one side at a time is how i did it) and lift the body off the frame and insert the BL pucks.

then you add a spacer in the steering and ones for the radiator.

thats it.

What woulod be the easiest way to get that. Those coils or the BL kit? Found the kit for 99.99 and the coils are 299.99 for 4.

It's upto you really. I would personally go with the coils as the stock ones are prone to sagging and kill the stance of the truck, these pp springs should not sag. You don't have to change your shocks but if there original there probably do for a refresher anyhow. If you do decide to go with the bosy lift you may want to find out exactly what it involved with the steering extension.

Hmm,doesn't a body lift leave a gap in the bumpers? If you are only going with those size tires then just go with bigger coils and save $$$.

yes, it leaves a gap in the front bumper

the rear one is mounted to the body, not the frame.

Are the performance product springs good springs? Quality and ride quailty wise...What all will lift?

I have only heard good things about the pp springs. There a little stiffer than stock but in a good way. I don't actually have them but this are the reviews I got from people when i asked around. The entire suspension will be lifted. But besides putting in the springs and maybe shocks if you want to then there's nothing else for you to worry about. It's the same concept as lowering a car, the whole suspension gets a drop. In this case it's being lifted.

full 1 inch bodylift from 4crawler.com will only cost you 130 bucks at most for bumper mounts, steering spacer, rad drop brackets and the pucks themselves

a full sus setup is going to run you no less then 250 for spacers and 500 for coils and shocks

Newbie curiousity, is the suspension lift better? Why do many rigs have both? What are the benefits and drawbacks to each?

benefits of suspension is flex and ride, gives you better flex off road to keep low center so you dont end up tipping much

body lift keeps the tires from hitting the wheels to hard so you wont rub a storm. or you can trim, for a DD rig a 1 inch is good
