A little help here please...

Hey guys, maybe one of you can help me nail down this sound I have in my 4Runner now. When it gets above 50-55mph I get this bad vibration that seems to be coming from the rear of my 4Runner. I only have the vibration when I'm giving my truck gas, then the vibration stops once I'm coasting.

I had my tires (BFG AT/KO 265/70/16) rotated/aligned the other week. I don't know if it has something to do with that, because I've never had this happen before when I've had my tires rotated. Could it be something else or did the guys do a crappy job on the rotation/alignment?

Its a 4WD '99 SR5 if it helps...

I would get a very similar problem in my '94 if the tire pressure was not correct. Have you checked that? Go by what the owners manual says not what the tire shop put it at. If that doesn't fix it then I would take it back to the alignment shop and have them look it over. Good luck.

Thanks guys, I have a suspicion that it might be closer to Satman's theory due to the fact the vibration stops as soon my foot is off the gas, but I'll check on the tire inflation too.

Is that a replacement issue on the U-joints or something as simple as more grease?

I know that some 4Runners and Tacomas had recalls on ball joints. Mine was ok I had it checked about two weeks ago. Any dealership can just put your vin # into the computer and tell you if there is a recall or service letter.
