A little help please- heater control cable

Hi, could anybody give me a little help on the routing of the heater control cable on my '86. I had to repair the box that houses the air conditioner condenser, and when I took it out I accidentally unhooked it. Now I can't see where it goes back to. it is the cable that is controlled by the "cool/warm" control onthe dash. The truck is an '86 4wd auto 4cyl w/ air conditioning if that helps. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Don't mark me on this but i believe it goes to a valve on the heater hose. It should be on the firewall near the back of the engine.

I have a 3.0 but if they are similar,It should go the firewall, and be attached to a lever on a little black box about 2" by 2", with 2 hoses attached one on each side, one from the eng. the other through the firewall, its the heater control valve, it basically opens or closes the flow of hot coolant going through the heater core under the dash

From tha back of the warm/cool panel it should run toward the driver side through the firewall and out to the valve the inlet side of you heater core.

good call guys your are 100% right there is a cable that leads to a valve on the inside of the engine cabinet near the firewall to the heater control unit in the dash.

for anyone who has a seized valve and searches for the repair here is the solution i found.
mine had seized so i repaired my broken heater unit with a washer that fit on the pin clip, then i sprayed the valve with pb blaster it fixed it after some pulling with a vise grips to loosen up the valve be liberal on the pb blast and slowly work it back and forth

Ok so I found the cable that goes out through the firewall, but there is a second cable that comes off the hot/cold control lever that runs over toward the glove box. Any idea where that one is supposed to go? It looks like it should go somewhere near the fan motor area. The fresh/recirculate cable is intact, so Im sure it doesnt control that, and I cannot see any place else where it might go. Any thoughts?
UPDTATE: I found that the second cable runs down to the area behind the lower vent that is located on top of the transmission hump. The easy way to explain it is if you were seated in the passenger seat, the cable connects to the heating system behind the lower vent that is located on top of the transmission hump by your left leg. It is very hard to see where it hooks up, but I found it!! hope this helps somebody else sometime...
