Whats the best part about the 3vze?


I haven't had a speeding ticket in years. eace:

When something goes south you know to check the headgaskets first.

1) most parts are readily available
2) well built engine(95k and still going strong, no leaks or oil usage)
3) relatively easy to work on, and service
4) attracts no attention from police or the like
5) reliable, doubt most 1990 vehicles are still around
6) holds its value
You get the idea. Our old 4runner has been good to our family. I try and give it the best care possible.

I've been pulled over 3 times for speeding. The most being 45 in a 35, but never got a ticket. I think they pull me over because I'm the first think they see on the road. But the 3vze has no power and eats all your gas but hey, my first one had 289k on it!

Although a bit awkward to utilize, and harder to store than a standard type, on larger boats they make a passable anchor.

The 3.0 offers the win-win scenario of slightly-better-than-22re power, with fuel economy consistent with V8's of its day.

From owning both engines (3vze & 22re), one HUGE thing for me is the fuel filter location. It is super easy to change on the 3vze.

It could actually be a really good engine in the 4Runner if they would've reduced the weight of the truck just a bit.....about 2500 lbs. should do.
