A little paint help please?

The gray stuff on the plastic below my grill has started to come off. I noticed a spot when washing it and thought it was tar or something but when I washed it the gray came off leaving a darker gray showing in 3 nasty spots. Has anyone else had this happen? Mine is an 03 SR5 and I have always had trouble with the Stratosphere Mica paint scratching easily so I wash carefully and now this on the gray stuff. Does anyone have a paint code I can touch it up with. I called my local dealer and they acted like they were clueless...
Thanks,

If you cant find the paint code for the part, most automotive paint supply stores can color match automotive paints just like Home Depot can color match items. They can even put paint into a professional style aerosol can for you to spray.

Maybe you have some pics of the area?

If it's peeling, you probably want to strip the whole piece and re-paint it as it seems the part was not prepped correctly. A good sanding to remove all the old paint, a cleaning with DuPont's Final Klean, a shot of Bulldog Adhesion Promoter, a couple layers of paint, and finally, a coat of clear in either gloss, satin clearcoat, or flat clearcoat, would make it like new again and stand up to daily punishment.

And all these items can be found at an Automotive Paint Supply store. Ask a local body shop who sells DuPont Automotive Finish supplies in your area if you have trouble finding them listed somewhere.
