a major problem with rear window

I opened the rear window with my remote but it would not close when I press the button right above the climate control unit. It's 02 4runner limited. Is one of the fuses burned?

I thought the key in the door is just for locking it, not for windows.

No although it should do that too. Turning and holding the key toward one side will raise/lower the window. The tailgate should unlock when the window is rolled down and lock when the window is rolled up.

I've found that if my window lock is engaged on the driver side door panel that the switch up front for the rear window won't work

He's right--the trick is there is like a two-second delay before the window starts to move. So a real dumbass can own the car for a few YEARS before he figures this out. Ask me how I know this.

And actually, you can lock or unlock the gate whether the window is up or down or in the middle. Just turn the key semi-quickly to the appropriate side and back to the center and the lock will cycle without moving the window, thanks to the aforementioned delay.

At least you learned something really useful. After owning mine for 5 years, I learned that my steering rack says Toyoda on it :jump:

Yeah i found that out too one day when i tried to put my rear window down and flipped out thinking the motor burnt out... this was like within a month of getting my 4Runner haha. I think i went like 2 days before realizing it and i was definitely relieved...:zoom:

I turned my key to roll up the window, but sometimes I had to pull it up with my other hand to make it move up. It's officially closed now, but the button inside still does not work. I can't roll it down or up using the button inside.
Is it still due to a burned fuse? which fuse could it be?

If the window rolls up weakly then I would suspect the regulator is on its way out
