A Quick Before and After....

I frigin love the way your 4r looks. I want mine like that so bad... Its the same color and everything. Im afraid to pull the running boards though. I want those fender flares!!!! Where did you get them and how much...

that looks pretty sick .

Thanks man!

IanB Truck looks great! I think I may need to pull my running boards off...what to do for front mudflaps though?

Thanks. Depends on if you already have flares and what type. I started out with no flares but was able to find some on craigslist and ebay. Then I ordered the front mud flaps.

Hey, just reading through your thread, as I just purchased a 2002 4Runner, and noticed the picture of your E39 M5. I also have a 2001 E39 M5, in Alpine White.

Are you on the m5board? If so, what's your signon? I'm richbob on there, too.

Here's my new, un-modded as yet, runner.

Yes. I'm Stone///M5 on the M5Board. Nice looking Runner man! I'm sure it won't stay "un-modded" for long if you hang out on this site!

Thanks! I got mine from craigslist and ebay. The biggest pain was finding the small skinny rear door flares. I was missing one for the longest and finally found it on craigslist. ebay had almost everything except the rear door flares. I think I spent about $100 on the flares after it was all complete. Just keep looking and be patient. Dealer wants a ridiculous amount so I wouldn't go that route if you can avoid it. Are you scared of rust under the boards? I'd just pull them and save all the hardware. Once you get them off you can always put them back on if you don't like the look. I seriously doubt you'll want them back on though!

I've got the widebody Surf flares, which I'm pretty sure are the same as the Ltd. flares. Are there factory molded mudflaps that flow with the front flares that you know of?

nice truck, what did you do to mount the flares? did you have to drill holes or anything or did you just use two sided tape ?

Id realy like to ditch my little chrome strip aswell..

BTW sweet M5

No drilling required and no two sided tape. When you take off your chrome strips(be careful so you don't break them and save the screws) there are connectors inside the fender. When you get the new flares you just line them up with the connectors and screw in the bolts. Let me know if you need a pic or more info.

Did you order the front flaps from Toyota or someone else? If you don't mind me asking, how much $$$? Seems like sportscarfan said it was around $50-$55 for OE front flaps that match up to the SR5 flares. Just wondering if this is the route you went.

Thanks.

Awesome looking truck and e39, I too owned a Black over Tan '02 until about 2 years ago when the rear end slid out on me on a wet spot and I sent the axles through the trunk floor as the rear wheels dug into a huge embankment on the side of the road. Totalled at 117k. :nono: Had Dinan software, Dinan wheels, front brake scoops (like yours) and I had it lowered about an inch all around. God I miss that car. We should meet up if you're in the NoVa area -- been making the acquaintance with a few 3rd's and 5th's in the area lately.

Yep. That's the route I went. Fronts flaps fit perfectly.
