So I bought my car used from a toyota dealership (2003 V6 Sport 150k km) and they rebuilt the front calipers before I bought it and 4 months later its wet from brake fluid running down the inside of the tire onto the ground from my passenger caliper. Looks like the brake fluid reservoir hasn't really moved but there a decent amount of fluid that I can see.

Quick question, I want to get groceries tonight, quick 8 min drive ok?

Longer question, should I be replacing both sides at once or just the one that's leaking. Thanks again guys.

P.S. I replaced the rear rotors and pads on the back, took lots of pics and I'll put a little how to on that up when I have the time. And I just switched to mobil 1 10w 30 synthetic (I get -40 or worse up here) at 156k km so we'll see if I spring any leaks like some say ... with my luck ...

Oh man, I would not mess with brakes. I doubt it's going to "go" but why take the chance unless you NEED food. Man just be careful if you go.

And...

replace both sides, do the job right, and you won't have to loose sleep over it. I'm a fan of doing the complete job.

Leaking Brake fluid means you have air in the lines, and i'm sure as more time pass you will have even more air in the line. Your brakes will not perform, with air in the line and the leak still present for even more air to get in the line, it will just get to a point where the air in the line is getting compressed instead of compressing the pads to disk...

x2 on that, not a lot of extra work to do the other side if you are already doing one side.

In a word, "no." Most cars have several brake redundancies, and i think that the 4R is no different, but i would never test them. Take your bike. FWIW I would usually suggest doing them both together, but if the "working" one isn't too old i guess you could get away without (assuming that you have them give it a thorough check).
