Hi all, I have a 2006 4Runner SR5 that I have had since brand new, has 140,100 miles on it now. At about 95,000 miles, when having oil change at dealership, they indicated that the truck had serious oil issue/leak, and would need over $2000 to fix. I said no thanks, finished oil change, and took to local mechanic (who is a diesel mechanic during day job and National Guard for 20 years) to check out. He washed it up, degreased it, tightened a few bolts and the filter, and said nothing needed to be replaced.
About three weeks ago, I took the truck into a quick change place for an oil change (about 139,000 miles), and they told me it had a small leak and should replace the oil gasket at some point, and should watch it.
This week, I have been noticing fresh oil leaks (about the size of a mini-donut) on the garage (and honestly, there have been... have a 2002 Avalon as well), but when I check it, the level is fine.
Should I be concerned about it, or take it to my friend/mechanic? This truck has been a beast, absolutely minimal maintenance, but want to make sure to keep it going well for another 100,000...
