Give it a few years. There may come a time when a 60 year old lady who'd choose to drive an Inferno 'Runner rather than a Prius, Highlander, Camry, etc. will look pretty interesting to you.

You cant honestly believe this BS? I can assure that the overwhelming majority of people here used their own hard-earned money to buy their rides. If you really do believe they bought them with daddy's money then you are in the wrong place.
 
Daddy's money would've bought me something a bit less useful to drive everyday. Sorry to disappoint. You sound bitter as ****.

I've read your posts. Apparently the main reason you came here was to judge people instead of gather information. How is it to be an arm chair quarterback? Pretty easy huh?

I was adopted. Lady who adopted me died when I was 6. Guy she was married to died 25 years ago. I have been on my own since the day I turned 18 so the only pockets I have are my own.

You must be new here... Everyone in the 5th gen forum is an engineer. Not sure how you missed that- it's mentioned in every thread.

Goddamn this thread is a trainwreck. Pro owners, don't be knobs. Non-Pro owners, don't be dicks.

The Pro has gotten a lot of people to buy 4Runners, that keeps the platform selling well, and viable. Unless you want it to go away like the FJC. It's not some super special unicorn made from angel farts. It's a trim level. But it's an attractive trim level that's done well.

Yeesh, why there's resentment or douchebaggery from either side of this is surprising.

Yeah, I've read your posts also. You call yourself engineer, but I've never read anything of yours to be useful, but as I said, that's just me.

Truly sorry about your parents, though. And I mean that sincerely.

I'm not saying my observations applied to all, but they do seem to fit some of the loudmouths
 
Daddy's money? I wish! If there are some that have that awesome arrangement, I don't begrudge them. How could I? I'd do it too if I could!

But alas, I think those running around spending other people's money for their ride/mods are few and far between.

Most of the comments are spot on, The most frustrating thing to me are the TRDP specifc posts (Radios, Amps, Sliders, Floor Mats, etc). I put on my judge wig and immediatly label that person as someone who does not realize what they just spent 40k+ dollars on and I shake my head. Is that the right think to do, likely not and for all I know they are the kindest, smartest, wealtest person I have ever heard of but i still feel they should have done more research before buying a 4runnner.

To be honest I did my research and last week I learned that the Pro has automatic headlights, which even the TEs don't have, so while I totally agree on your point, there's some confusion. And for most people buying a Pro, this may very well be their first 4Runner, and aren't as knowledgeable about the variations.

I've met some folks in PDX who own the Pros, and frankly don't know shit about their vehicles, or care, and think they bought some super-charged RAPTOR. And that's fine, I do my best. I paid for my vehicle outright, after saving for 2 years after a nasty set of life events, and a lost job. Either way, everyone could benefit from dialing back the mud slinging, go out for a nice drive, and chill.
