I really like these Tacoma rims (https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/222904221532 ) for my 2005 T4R (SR5). My T4R has a Toytec lift with Bilsteins. I just bought Cooper Discovery A/T3 tires in 275 70 R17 that are mounted on aftermarket rims that came with the vehicle.

1. Will the Tacoma rims in question fit? I’m used to Offsets measured in millimeter like they do for cars. I’m a bit lost in this back spacing talk.

2. If not what do I need to get them to fit?

3. Are there any particular stock Toyota wheels I should look for that will fit with my tires and lift?

4. Last question... my current wheels have an odd non-stock lug nut. Would the Tacoma rims in question use the stock 4Runner lugs?

Backspacing is just spacing behind the hub where the offset is distance off of center the hub is. They are related.

They will fit fine.

You will need stock lugs. they work with the flat lugs that come stock on the 4runner, I assume you have a conical aftermarket lug that will not work.

Another newbie here...unable to start a new thread as I just registered here. I have a 2004 Sport (6 cyl). Tires were getting low on tread so I found a set of new 2018 Tacoma rims/tires for $800 on CL. Triple checked the rim size online and bought them. Not sure why but I installed the rears first. Perfect; look awesome. Put on the front left and noticed virtually NO clearance between rim interior wall and brake caliper body. They went on, but I’m not sure I could slide a piece of paper through the closest point. Took everything off and reinstalled the originals (rotated at least).

Do I need to sell these rims now or will a set of 1.5” (or more?) wheel adaptaers solve this? The interior of the Tacoma rim looks like it flares a bit. Would this be a safe and practical solution? Other suggestions? What a crazily frustrating afternoon...:~{

My 2004 Sport in the post above is 2WD if that is at all relevant...

I did buy 17” rims. But after further research here (another thread...identical issue) it appears my Sport Edition has the larger caliper up front. Incompatible with the Tacoma rim (pics in other thread same thing I’m up against) Now my only chance is wheel adapters to clear the calipers, if not I’ll have to sell the rims.

Or you could replace your rotors and calipers with sr5 sized parts.
