I don't hate the hood scoops. Actually, It isn't a big deal either way. The scoop does give it a sportier look, so it makes sense on the TE.

I agree the review leans toward the America manufacturers. But honestly I would not expect anything different from the Automobile Association of America (AAA). With the declining SUV sales, and perhaps overall declining sales regardless of model, they wouldn't dare endorse a foreign model. It's like a democrat publicly endorsing healthcare when they are up for re-election, some things you just don't do right?

I don't want to sound like a stereotypical a__hole from LA, but here goes anyway. Prior to purchasing my 2010 Limited I owned a BMW M6. Before that I owned a Mercedes CL55 AMG. Before that I owned a BMW 745i. I've never owned any type of SUV in my life prior to my new 4Runner.

All I can say is I can't believe how much I love this truck! It obviously doesn't come close to the 500hp I had in my M6, but to be honest I don't care. The car rides perfect. I don't understand all these write up's about body sway and all that other junk. I have every option on my Limited (I think). The NAV and touch screen display KILLS all my other cars put together. Being a true car guy I must admit it would be nice to have more of a man size rim (I think I had 7" wheels on my big wheel when I was 7). And I would gladly trade in my reverse camera for front and rear sensors when parking (BMW and Mercedes spoiled me).

So to sum it all up I don't feel body sway. It drives perfect in the city. It has plenty of power for everyday driving. I drive through a canyon everyday to work and back and I honestly am overwhelmed by the great handling for such a heavy vehicle. I don't tow anything. And it looks amazing in Magnetic Grey. I get questions all the time from strangers asking if that's really a Toyota 4Runner. When valet's deliver my car they all have a look of amazement asking if this is a new 4Runner (sorry it's an LA thing). The body style is incredible. I actually think it slightly resembles a Cadillac Escalade (from the side). And when all my friends get in and are able to adjust the second row bench seats in any direction and can't believe the touch screen display with all the options they all start thinking about getting one too!

Mine is a SR5 4x4 and it doesn't have the bling like the Limited. Something about this 5th gen I love so much. Everyday, I like it even more. I like it better than my blingmobile, that my wife drives. She likes all that bling! SoCal=land of the bling.::surfer:

I don't think there's much "bling" difference between the SR5s and the Limited - except for the obvious things that the general public will never notice.

Seriously as far as exterior take away the 20's and they look identical, as far as the inside the limited is just more feature rich, no bs looking woodgrain and what nots, I'm not sure I quite understand his definition of "bling", but it probably isn't too relevant since the term was used a total of 4 times over the span of 6 sentences/statements.

Well said. I thought I would really miss my Titan. I wasn't sure going back to an SUV would work for me. But, I'm sitting next to a camp fire right now. I brought a truck load of camping gear with me. And it was easier to manage out of my 4runner than it ever was from my truck.

As much as I loved my Titan...this 4runner has really proven itself to be incredibly versatile. And it is the perfect size. Toyota really got this package right. I'm sure they will refine it and add back some of the conveniences of the previous generation. But, honestly, I've also owned some higher end SUVs, including a fully loaded Suburban and Expedition (leather, nav...the works)

I could have afforded the Limited. But, I prefer cloth seats. Getting into a hot vehicle in Florida in a suit and tie convinced me quickly that leather was not a good idea. I hate walking in to see a client with my shirt stuck to my back!

This 4runner is much more fun to drive than the big rigs. And the SR5 is fine with the Bluetooth, satellite radio and iPod package.

Has anyone ever seen a review on the Limited. Every review that I have seen is on the SR5 or Trail? I would like to hear their handling claims for the Limited with XREAS.

Overall, the fifth-generation 4Runner, while significantly improved over the previous offering, still felt dated and out of touch with the modern SUV market. The vehicle seemed to me a throwback to vehicles built a decade ago. 4Runner feels huge and most definitely truckish.

That says it all. Toyota has the Highlander for the modern SUV market, and the Sequoia, and the RAV4. They also get market share with their great sport truck offerings--4Runner, FJCruiser and Tacoma. And they have the Tundra.

The only problem I see is a need to get rid of the windowless wonder, the FJCruiser, and focus on a bad-ass 4Runner.
